Clown School

Occasionally, I miss working in fashion because the sheer amusement I, recovering tomboy and lover of classic lines, get from people parading around like clowns as if they're looking like a million bucks. Just because it's sold, honey, doesn't mean you have to buy it. Here's some selections from Monday's CFDA Awards:

I've always wondered how people can get away with putting on clothes like that... you figure the more money you have, the better you'd look, right?

And was that Jiggaman in the white pants?

really, i expected more from jay-z. hes been doing quite well with the hustler turned mostly respectable businessman.

Yo, I had seen to top of Jiggas tux and I thought it looked dashing. I didn't realize that his pants were cream? What the hell is that all about? I'm not feeling that. Usually, Jay is pretty smooth with it. I dunno, I'm kinda diggin EVES dress. I've seen her in worse duds than that. . . trust me on this. I like her hair. She needs bangs to cover that long face.

Who is this big and burly mo'fo w/ the blue dress on?

That's Andre Leon Talley. Believe it or not, a top editor at Vogue. I'd say he should know better, but he likes promoting clown wear.
